What is an escape room? 

An escape room is a physical adventure game in which players are locked in a room and have to use elements of the room to solve a series of puzzles and escape within a set time limit. Escape Muncie was the first of its kind in the area. Find clues, unlock codes and discover the solution to get out!  

 

How long will my game last?  

Each escape room experience will last 60 minutes.  Please arrive a few minutes prior to your scheduled time to check-in and make sure your waivers are all submitted.  We try to start our games right on time so being late may cause you to have less than 60 minutes to play. 

 

What is the cost per person for Escape Muncie?  

Each escape room experience is $30 per person.  Fundraising options and corporate rates for large groups are available.  Please contact us for more details. 

 

How do I book a game?  

Simply click on the “book now” button right here on our website, chose your game, your date, and your time; then follow the steps to input your information, and you’re all set!

What are your hours? 

You can book your game online for specified times Monday through Saturday from 3:00 pm until 11:00 pm.  Just click on the “book now” button to view our calendar.

What if I don't see a time that works for my group? 

Don’t see a time that works for your group?  The reality is that our hours are by suggestion only.  Just call us and we will try to make arrangements to accommodate you!  We just ask that whatever time your game happens to be, please arrive 10-15 minutes in advance.  Depending on the day, there may or may not be a Game Master there earlier than 30 minutes prior to start your game.  Your scheduled time is when you will start.  

 

What is the maximum number that can be in a room at one time?  Is there a minimum?  

The maximum number of participants per game is 8 people and the minimum is 2 people.  We have found that the ideal number in each of our rooms is 4 - 6 people.  You’ll want to put all your heads together to get out! 

  

Do we need to book our escape game in advance?

Yes. You can see escape game times and book reservations on our online booking page. We can’t guarantee a spot unless you’ve booked ahead of time. Each participant must also fill out our "Release of Liability and Waiver Agreement" prior to playing any of our games.  There will be a link to the waiver in your confirmation email or you can fill it out when you arrive.

 

Can I cancel or reschedule?  

All bookings are non-refundable, however, if you contact us at least 24 hours in advance, we may be able to reschedule you to a later booking time.

Are we really locked in a room? 

Yes and no.  You will be in a room with a locked door, but every door is equipped with an emergency exit button, so you are welcome to leave the room at any time. There will also be a Game Master monitoring you and your group while you are in the room, so if you really have a problem, we will be right there to help.  Your safety is most important to us!

 

What happens if we don't solve anything?

We will be monitoring your progress throughout the escape game via video cameras. Our Game Masters will provide clues if you get stuck — after all, we want you to have fun!

 

Can I take photos or video while playing the escape games?

Sorry, but we ask that you refrain from taking photos or videos in the escape rooms.  We do not want to spoil the fun for others should they see images ahead of time and begin to study for solutions.

 

Are escape rooms scary?
No. Our rooms are not designed to scare our players. However, even though the rooms are not scary you will still feel a rush of adrenaline as the minutes tick away and you try to escape in time.

 

Is there an age restriction?   

Nope!  Escape Muncie is fun for all ages!  However, children ages 15 and under must be accompanied by a paid adult.  Due to the complexity of some of the clues, we do recommend our games for ages 12 and up.  Limit one unpaid child under age 7 per room.

 

Can I come back and do the same room again?

Of course you can!  But now that you know some of the clues and solutions, please book the entire room or ask for a private booking so you do not spoil the experience for others.

Where do we go to play your escape games?

Escape Muncie is located at 300 N. Pauline Ave. in Muncie, Indiana just off of White River Blvd. between the Jackson St. and Washington St. bridges.  If you've chosen an adventure at Gilbert and Maude's, come to 808 W. White River Blvd, just across the parking lot.  All of our in-person games are played in one of those two locations. You can find a map on our Location / Contact us page for both locations.
